My name is Sarah Everette Barbee.
I am an aspiring public relations student at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke attempting to learn all that I can about the field.
Much of my professional and college life has been spent working towards one goal: owning my own business. I enjoy watching and assisting with starting and growing small businesses, and really try to absorb what I can from each experience.
As you see by my resume, I like to stay very busy! Starting towards the end of high school and continuing into college, I have always held multiple positions with different organizations. This is something many of my peers know me for, and many respect me and rely on my skills/advice to help guide them with their own career. My experiences and knowledge has helped me advance to PRSSA Chapter President at UNCP, and I am very proud to have that achievement under my belt!
One of my most recent positions where I served as a Hawk Assistant for the College of Arts and Sciences was very heavily research-based, and I really enjoy that aspect of the field. One of my first jobs at the university was research based – I worked for the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs on campus – and I spent most of time there performing grant research.
Much of my professional career has been focused on writing. Along with research, writing is by far one of my favorite aspects of the field. I have many writing samples located in my “Portfolio” section of my website.
Beyond my professional life, I have an interest in make up/beauty, I enjoy cooking (especially baking), I enjoy watching television/movies, I enjoy writing short fiction or poetry (genre varies), and I enjoy reading comics and various other forms of literature.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my website!
